Being a medical device manufacturer, SLTL is well aware that such a level of art does not come without investing the most precious years of one’s life gaining ceaseless knowledge and practicing appropriate skills continuously and painstakingly. Our SLTL Medical works for years to come up with new solutions for medical devices and equipment.
Fortunately, our nation possesses people who are well versed with the needed skills to save others from dying. These are doctors, who try their best to help people live more. Life of not only the individual but of the entire family depends upon a doctor’s performance. Our doctors are playing a major role in spreading awareness about healthy living by providing tips, guidance and other health-related knowledge through different mediums. They not just cure people, but also make people conscious of their well being to eliminate the need for future cure altogether.
Working every single day with such a level of pressure is a strenuous task. And so on the day of 1st July every year, India embraces the unbounded services of our doctors by celebrating National Doctor’s Day.
Why 1st July?
The first National Doctor’s day was celebrated in July 1991. In India, this day marks the birth as well as the death anniversary of one of the most renowned physicians in India, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. In his memory, the West Bengal government announced a state holiday on July 1 and urged the central government to announce it a national holiday.
This year though, Doctor’s Day holds chief importance. Doctors Day of 2020 is dedicated to all those doctors and surgeons who are serving during this epidemic in the primary and secondary care setups as well as in the dedicated COVID care hospitals. Wherever one is, it is a time that every single effort should count.
The 2020 Theme
Every year we celebrate National Doctor’s Day with a special theme. Due to the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic, the theme of this year is “Lessen the mortality of COVID 19”. It is to spread awareness about asymptomatic hypoxia and early aggressive therapy.
In the times when everyone is maintaining social distancing, doctors worldwide are risking their own lives to treat those who are suffering from COVID-19. And though the recoveries are there, every new day is adding a worrisome number to the list of infected people. The burden of such conditions ultimately falls on the shoulders of doctors.
In India, the day gets organised by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), according to which Doctor’s Day of 2020 is of substantial importance. In the hope of spreading relief among the general public – both physically as well as mentally – every member of IMA and the local branch have initiated working in the local area and brought about a change in the current situation.
In 2020, National Doctor’s Day is not going to be celebrated through face to face meetings and celebrations. State-level webinars and virtual meetings arranged by video conferencing are being conducted to acknowledge the efforts of doctors and practitioners.
Whether we celebrate this day face to face or virtually, what is important is that we realize who the real heroes are. Appreciating and expressing gratefulness to these doctors will help them continue their efforts and save more lives.
