Name the next chapter of life-saving innovation.
SLTL's Medical Division designs the precision Stents and Balloon Catheters clinicians trust every day. Now it needs a name worthy of the work — and we're inviting students to give it one.
Engineering since 1989. Healing since 2008.
SLTL began as an industrial pioneer in 1989. Two decades later — armed with the same precision — it turned that engineering to medicine, launching its Medical Division in 2008 to manufacture life-saving cardiovascular devices.
SLTL is founded.
An industrial pioneer takes shape — focused on laser and precision engineering. The foundation of decades of innovation to come.
A new mission begins.
SLTL Medical launches — bringing precision manufacturing into cardiovascular care with coronary stents and balloon catheters.
A new identity awaits.
After 18 years of saving lives, the Medical Division is ready for a name worthy of its work — and you're invited to write it.
World-class cardiac stents.
Engineered for the moments that matter most — when precision, reliability, and trust decide an outcome. This is the work you'll be naming.
Two devices. Countless lives.
Before you suggest a name, understand the work behind it. Here's a quick look at what SLTL Medical builds — and why it matters.
Coronary Stents
Tiny mesh tubes that open narrowed coronary arteries and keep them open. Once placed, they restore blood flow to the heart — often during emergency procedures that save a life.
- Engineered to promote optimal healing of the artery wall.
- Designed for precise deployment and long-term reliability.
- Used by interventional cardiologists worldwide.
Balloon Catheter
A slender catheter with an inflatable balloon at its tip. It widens narrowed vessels and prepares them for stent placement — the unsung tool behind nearly every angioplasty.
- Built for safe vascular access and controlled dilation.
- Supports faster recovery and better procedural outcomes.
- A workhorse of modern cardiovascular intervention.
Backed by recognition.
What makes a winning name?
A few honest guidelines to help you craft an entry the judges can fall in love with.
Convey trust and care.
This is a medical brand. The name should feel safe, professional, and human — never gimmicky.
Carry a spark of innovation.
It should hint at precision engineering, R&D, or future-forward thinking — without sounding like a tech startup.
Be memorable and pronounceable.
Short is great. Easy to say aloud is better. Easy to spell after hearing it once is best.
Honour the Indian heritage — if you can.
Sanskrit, regional language roots, or a nod to Indian craft are welcome but not required.
Avoid trademarked terms.
Names that conflict with existing medical brands won't qualify. A quick search before submitting is wise.
Hand-picked by the SLTL leadership.
Entries are reviewed by a panel from across SLTL — leadership from the Medical Division, R&D, brand, and product teams. Selection criteria include relevance, originality, clarity, and how naturally the name reflects the work.
